Green Tea

I think we should all research the benefits of green tea. Since Retta has been diagnosed with breast cancer, she and Larry have spent a lot of time looking for things to help her body fight the cancer. So I decided to google "green tea". . . the results are amazing. I am making the switch!

Here is a couple of things I found

Benefits of green tea. . .
Today, scientific research in both Asia and the west is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. For example, in 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.

To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:
  • cancer
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • high cholesterol levels
  • cariovascular disease
  • infection
  • impaired immune function

More info about green tea. . .
1. It is used to treat multiple sclerosis.
2. It is used for treatment and prevention of cancer.
3. It is used to stop Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
4. It is used to raise the metabolism and increase fat oxidation.
5. It reduces the risk of heart diseases and heart attacks by reducing the risk of trombosis.
6. It reduces the risk of esophageal cancer.
7. Drinking green tea inhibits the growth of certain cancer cells, reduces the level of cholesterol in blood, improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
8. It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular diseases
9. It is used to treat impaired immune function. .
10. Some researches show that, drinking green tea regularly may help prevent tooth decay by killing the bacteria which causes the dental plaque.

Remembering the past . . .

My grandparents house holds many memories! I spent a lot of time there as a little girl. My grandma was such a sweet lady. She was very patient and loving. She always provided "calm" in my life.

We are now in the process of change. . . the house is going to be removed. The stone is currently being removed from the house. In it's place will be a covered pavilion. The drawings have just come back and I think it will be a beautiful transition. It will have a fireplace in the open area and a kitchend that can be used for gatherings. I think my grandma would be happy.

Dove Season

Labor day may be the last day of summer for many, but it is the beginning of hunting season around here. . .

Class Ring. . .

I cannot believe it! Tonight we order Timothy's class ring. I just cannot figure out where the time has gone. It is so hard to believe that he will soon be graduating. So tonight we are off to RCHS to order his 2010 Class Ring. . .
